Reiki Healing
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word rei meaning "universal" and ki as the force of energy within all living things. Despite the short history of its name, Reiki is an ancient form of energy healing known to soothe the body, mind, and spirit. It is a hands on practice of gentle touch that is said to have been used by healers across the history of humanity yet it only came to be a structured form with the teaching of its methods by the Japanese healing master Mikao Usui in the early twentieth century. It is one of the subsets of alternative medicines and has been used as a complementary form of therapy for hospital patients during their recovery as it has proven to promote general wellbeing. Relief of stress, bone and tissue recovery, stimulation of immune system and the body's natural healing processes have been linked to the practice of reiki for over a century.
Quantum Touch
Similar in approach to Reiki, Quantum Touch is a healing modality that involves the harmonizing of a patient's prana, chi, or ki as mentioned above (the flow of energy sustaining all living beings). In quantum touch the practitioners focus on providing the patient proper resonance of their own vibrational being. As vibrational creatures, we constantly project our individual frequencies to the outside world, but we also absorb frequencies through the proven scientific theory of entrainment, in which two vibrational bodies harmonize their differing frequencies to eventually find common ground. This may be a vicious circle for people who live close to stressful situations and have little training in the tools for balancing their vibrational frequencies. Quantum touch is a scientifically proven technique that can alleviate harmful and unsustainable vibrational states.
Color Therapy
Often traced back to the Ancient Egyptians, color therapy or chromotherapy is a form of healing involving the use of light and color to stimulate people's moods. Though still considered an experimental form of treatment in Western medicine, it is ancient knowledge that color exposure balance our emotions and promote overall wellbeing, calmness, and security. In Indian philosophy each Chakra can be activated through the adequate exposure of light frequency, manifesting in specific colors like red for the Root Chakra, orange for Sacral, and so on. In a color therapy session, specific colors will be used to stimulate mood. It can serve to alleviate depression, stress, appetite loss, and other mood-related symptoms.
Aromatherapy
Usually addressed as a complementary therapy to other forms of alternative medicine, aromatherapy consists of the intentional use of aromatic compounds, typically from essential oils. Aromatherapy has been used for thousands of years in cultures like the ancient Greeks, Chinese, Egyptian, and Indian, and evidence suggest that although it is not meant to cure diseases, it is helpful in assisting the body's natural healing capacity through the soothing of the nervous system.
Crystal Healing
Based primarily on their natural chemical formation, taking place underground over millions of years, crystals are said to have the capacity to hold and store energy for thousands if (not millions) of years. Crystal healing is a natural, non-invasive, therapeutic modality that centers around the positioning of a selection of crystals meant to address particular energetic imbalances. The practitioner of crystal healing requires proper understanding of the properties of each mineral, as well as the energetic harmony of the space where the session is to be conducted so they may more accurately deliver the energetic benefits of the crystals. Crystal healing is said to have been integrated into the Sumerian culture of Mesopotamia as well as ancient Egyptians who chose to adorn themselves with crystals such as amethyst, lapis lazuli, and carnelian.
Sound Healing
Being a primordial element in our sensory experience as human beings, sound carries a vibration that resonates with mind, body, and spirit. It has been used from ancient times to treat psychological pathologies, with evidence dated back to the Ancient Greeks who employed sound and chanting for emotional therapy and to ward off evil spirits. Today, sound healing has gathered much attention being a natural, non-invasive, stress reliever. Beyond managing stress levels, sound healing has been argued to treat depression, sleep disorders, PTSD, learning difficulties, and eating disorders.
